Latest Petrol Prices in Pakistan

The interim government of Pakistan has implemented a substantial rise in petrol prices, effective from August 16, 2023, until the end of the month, August 31, 2023. This increase encompasses both petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) rates, starting from the aforementioned date.
As per the official announcement, the cost of petrol in Pakistan has surged by Rs. 17.50 per liter. Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has encountered a notable increase of Rs. 20.00 per liter.
Consequently, the new petrol price in Pakistan now stands at Rs. 290.45 per liter, while the revised cost of high-speed diesel rests at Rs. 293.40 per liter. However, it’s worth noting that the Finance Minister has not introduced any alterations to the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil (LDO).
Here’s a breakdown of the changes in prices:
- Petrol:
- Old Price: Rs. 272.95 per liter
- New Price: Rs. 290.45 per liter
- Change: +Rs. 17.50
- High-Speed Diesel (HSD):
- Old Price: Rs. 273.40 per liter
- New Price: Rs. 293.40 per liter
- Change: +Rs. 20.00
The updated petrol and diesel rates will be effective from August 16, 2023, and will remain in force for the latter half of the month.
In an official notification issued by the Finance Division, it was stated, “Global petroleum prices have witnessed an increase over the past two weeks. Consequently, consumer prices in Pakistan are being adjusted accordingly.”
